ABOUT US

We have been working in the community since 1962 in what were derelict buildings, over time Allesley Park Community Association has been renovated and improved by the members of the community to provide a hub for the local area.

We have operated on a full repairing lease since 1963 but after the Quirk Review was released we made initial enquiries to the Local Authority with regards to Asset Transfer for Allesley Park Community Association. Coventry City Council then received support in the Advancing Assets Programme and we were invited to be the pilot for Asset Transfer for Coventry. We were also instrumental in the development of the policy for Asset Transfer which gained cabinet members approval in July 2011.

In August 2011 a 99 year lease on a peppercorn rent was granted.

In 2003, with support from Coventry & Warwickshire Co-Operative Development , Allesley Park Community Association became a Limited Company. The board of which, consists of 5 local residents who all work on a voluntary basis. Meeting regularly and keeping fully informed and participating in all aspects of the business is at the heart of all they do. Alongside the strongly committed Management Board they have been able to provide and deliver a wide and varied range of services over a considerable length of time.
